Default About Horror Movies (Hardcore Off Topic)

i have recently noticed in Horror/Action movies that women mostly play the important characters... like the movies "Resident Evil, The Grudge, The Ring (1&2), Chainsaw Massacre, Silent Hill, and Others"... im not being sexist or anything

Sex sells. Pretty female lead characters will draw an audience.

I think the whole thing became popular when Alien had a female win the day.

Basically America wants to see good looking females running and screaming in fear rather then seeing guys running and screaming in fear. Hey you also forgot to Descent, that is all about girls in fear.

There's also a sense of vulnerablity that goes along with female characters. It's just one of the stereotypes that goes along with society.

Perhaps it plays havoc with the male's instinct to defend women which they automatically perceive as weaker ... or maybe its just that they find them attractive.

Yeah, mostly males create those movies...'cause if females created them, we would be watching chick flicks 24/7...and we all know that guys don't want to make other guys run around scared and all sweaty...unless they're gay....but if they're straight, then they want females.
